A Short Take...

Just a little somethin' somethin' to tide over the masses until the Scribbler awakes from its annual winter hibernation.

Given the current political climate and how certain Presidential candidates seem willing to exercise selective government intervention in the lives of its citizens, while railing loud and long about having this same government keeping its grubby paws off of those things that they hold dear,  I posted this to Facebook, and felt the need to pass it along here.

I'm not that smart, but here's a big 'ol tree that needs shaking. If you don't want the government to tell you how to educate your children, or what to feed your children, or how to discipline your children, then you shouldn't want the government to tell you whether you can have children, or who you should marry in order to have children, or if you and your intended can't have children, how you should be able to get them. You shouldn't want the government to tell you whether you should raise your children in a religion, or not. If you don't want the government in your wallet, you shouldn't want it in your bedroom, or at the marriage altar. Just sayin'.

To me, at least it's about consistency.  But what the hell do I know?
